decorating the nursery

In my mind, we are so behind. The nursery, formerly known as the office, is almost cleaned out. We know we are reusing an Ikea armoire (painting white and switch out the knobs for glass ones), a beautiful Anthropologie sofa (used in double l's nursery and bought during an employee sample auction), shelving from the office (painted white) and double l's changing table. And today, we ordered our little one's crib and bedding. Coming closer to having a complete nursery. We still need to paint the walls and furniture, take inventory of all double l's baby clothes, and WASH!!!!

I, of course, am concerned about how we will get it all done. But know we will, we always do...

Here is the crib we ordered... Isn't it so girlie and pretty!

I am thinking these knobs for the armoire... We are saving money by painting the Ikea armoire that was left when we bought our house and my bub can use his corporate discount for the knob! We only need two. Gotta love that!

I love this bedding from Annette Tatum! I absolutely love it. She was so helpful and sent me swatches. She checked in with me and was there to answer all my inquiries (PERSONALLY!). Now, if I could only find the perfect paint color for the walls...

Here is the amelie sofa that we have, but our sofa has a light tan (very simple, no pattern) cushion. This one is a little busy, but still you see the style & shape. Our version has the brushed black painted wood as well. LOVE IT!!!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend! I can't wait to show you pictures of the finished product!

pregnancy style

Comfort has become (somewhat) a thing of the past. Slowly but surely, my ankles and feet will blow up. My bub's sweatshirts will become my favorite fashion accessories! But for now, I am trying to balance comfort and style. Its been a challenge, but feeling stylish actual makes me feel better about all this added weight. However, I came home last night (Thursdays are office days) and my feet were killing me. I wore a pair of cute HEELED boots all day, which resulted in pain and swollen limbs! But as I stumbled into the house, carrying double l as he fell asleep on the way home, I pick up these babies that just arrived.

Aren't they adorable!?! They are so comfortable too. I, of course, have them on today as well as a cute little urban outfitters' black dress (worn as a tunic--hello the belly makes everything shorter), these mega comfy leggings, and cute scarf.

I feel comfortable, look stylish, and my feet are not SCREAMING at me.

So tell me your secrets to remaining comfortable while looking fabulous? And please include details on any comfy, adorable shoes -- because this mama needs to invest in more pairs. No more heels during this pregnancy!!!!

updates all around... preschool, potty, snow, pregnancy

Okay, I am just not totally back on board with posting. I know, I am the worst!

Preschool - LL was accepted to our first choice. No waiting list! We are so excited. Its a lovely school, right on our church's campus. He attends Sunday School in the same building, so he is already familiar with the classrooms. He will be attending their 2-day program and will still join me at church on Wednesdays while I attend bible study. This is truly an answered prayer. I was so overwhelmed by the process. Who knew it was so difficult! Which brings me to our next update....

Potty Training - Yikes! I refuse to buy regular diapers anymore (except for overnights, because Mama hates leaks on the sheets). So, double l is in pull ups and boy have we hyped them up. We have hyped everything up -- M&Ms, Pull Ups, dancing around when we get a little pee-pee... But still no real progress. I need help. Any books, sites, tips... If so, please include them in your comments!!! Update on the update: Since I wrote this a few days ago (without posting - I am so slow), we have an exciting update. Double l told my husband this morning he had to go poop and pee-pee on the potty and he actually DID!!! Needless to say, we have a party this morning at our house :)

Pregnancy - Okay, I so was ready to start this update with my gestational week. Um, yeah - I have no clue. I'll get back to ya. Times have changed. I was nose deep in what to expect when your expecting and could recite what week and every baby stats while pregnant with double l. This princess, its more like I daydream of how adorable I want to decorate her room and pray that my delivery is different and that's about it. I am doing well. I had a little issue with my back and was on a little rest last week, but now I am fine. Baby girl is awesome. She is strong and loves to tap dance on her mama's bladder, but honestly I don't mind. I want to enjoy every second. My belly is HUGE and so is my butt, boobs, thighs and arms. Um, why does this happen??? We have so much to do before this little one arrives and some stress has set in. Hello I had a dream the other night that she was born and we did not have one onesie in the house. *aside -- I am obsessed with onesies and just stopped putting LL in them!* However, I am not that overwhelmed that we actually have accomplished anything, but we are (kind of) moving in the right direction. We started cleaning out her room. But I will save those details for another post. At any rate, I can still see my feet, my ankles are still thin (but its only time until they blow up) and coveted your prayers for a safe delivery. VBAC is still on the table, but I am measuring a week ahead again and my doctor wants me to prepare for a repeat c-section if she is as big or bigger than double l. More on that later as well. Keeping it "lite" right now!

Snowstorms Twenty-Ten - All I can say is we have been buried with beautiful, fun snow. Here are some photos to enjoy!

what seeds will you sow

Good Mid-Morning All,

Snow is on the way. Yes, another 12-20"!!!

I just read a wonderfully short and purposeful devotional and I must share it with you all.

people harvest only what they plant. Galatians 6:7

"sow seeds of hope and enjoy optimism. sow seeds of doubt and expect insecurity..." Max Lucado

Isn't this so true??? What seeds will you sow?

Snow Days!!!

There is anywhere between 24 and 30 inches of snow right outside our door. Inside -- we are slowly cleaning out the clutter, reading, cooking, baking, washing laundry, snuggling, talking a lot about the potty, and dreaming of what life will be like when our little princess arrives. Outside -- the guys have built a "noman named frosty", cleaned off mama's car, and shoved the walk and driveway.

We love snows days. Life is simple and just lovely.
