I try to keep fresh flowers in house throughout the year. when funds weren't as tight and before double l, I would have fresh cut flowers throughout our home. now, I normally keep them on the dining room table, which is a center room in this old house. we don't have a kitchen table, so the dining room one is our central command center. it's never set and most of the time has keys, mail, laptops, books, and crayons on it! but having fresh flowers in the center always make me feel better about the mess and brightens up my day.gladiolus are the perfect flower to have in the middle of our table. they are tall and inexpensive. I can find a bunch in our local food stores (year-round) for $5 and under. and they last for weeks! which is an added plus, because I am not able to fit an extra $5 in the grocery budget it week.
after picking up a bunch on sunday, I even was motivated to clean off the table. so even though the table is not set (I just love how model homes always have a beautiful set table, but who the heck lives like that?) it still looks simple and pretty...

do you have any inexpensive finds that you use to brighten up your home? if so, you must share....

LOVE THIS - when I lived in china I had fresh flowers delivered once a week! LITERALLy - 3 huge fresh arrangements for $5!! I loved it - can't do it here - too much $$$
they last for weeks?!? i am going to get some. i hate buying flowers and having to throw them out 3 days later, but they are so pretty! thanks for the tip!
I also love fresh flowers. I try and grow a wide variety in my backyard so I can cut my own. Right now, I have lots of black-eyed susans...
I've been cutting hydrangea blooms off my plant - they're so big and bright and last forever. My dining room never is clean - it's my staging area (until we entertain then it gets cleaned up). Drives my husband crazy!
I like yours it looks lovely
Oh and at the store I buy cute little plants for $5 and put them throughout our home...they also help purify the air I read. I hope it's so. I love green plants!
This is so true....I love the way fresh flowers brighten up my day. And they encourage me to clean off the table too- an added plus :) I haven't really found any other inexpensive things, but just the simple act of lighting a candle brings serenity.
I had no idea those were so long-lasting! I gotta get me some.
In the summer I clip blooms from my day lilies to put in vases. They hand on for a few days if you bring in some stems with closed buds too.
And I love my peace lilies too. They are potted plants that you can buy at IKEA for super cheap. They only need to be watered once in a while. They are very hard to kill.
:)
Just beautiful choice for those fresh flowers... I too love to decorate my room with fresh flowers...
I have seen many of them who use for japan flower delivery to surprise their beloveds at special occasion. That is it.... So romantic, what an illusion a flower for a flower in Japan when He send to Her or she to him with love and passion. Like it very much
