foodie edition
not sure about you, but my toddler is the pickiest eater. double l use to eat everything. whatever we put in front of him, he devour. since he turned 15 months, he has become so picky. veggies were the first to go... recently meat...
in my desperation, I bought 'deceptively delicious'! this past week, we have tried the meatloaf (with hidden carrots) and the mac & cheese (with hidden cauliflower).
the meatloaf did not go over well. obviously, since double l is refusing all meat and poultry! but I must say, my bub and I loved it. I made it with lean ground meat (recipe calls for ground turkey). we made delicious panini sandwiches. double l definitely missed out. I think the puree of carrots just made it a tad sweet...
however, double l really enjoyed the mac & cheese. I felt so much better, so I will not give up on jessica seinfeld just yet. the pancakes (with hidden sweet potatoes) are next on the list. I am confident that they will go over well, since the little man loves him some pancakes :)

I, also, have been pushing pumpkin. however, its been in the form of sweets (pumpkin bread and scones). I just don't know what to do anymore and want double l to eat healthy and like a variety of foods.
okay, thoughts, ideas... what works with your toddlers or what worked???

I'm new here! What a great blog :)
I have a friend who swears by this cook book - loves it loves it loves it...she did warn me about some gassy issues though so watch out!
I have the book as well. I really like the taste of the pancakes, though I had a hard time getting them all of the way done inside because the puree made the batter a little too wet. Just try out some of the recipes and see what you think. Personally, I don't really use any of them regularly now, but I do still add purees or finely chopped veggies to the things I am cooking when applicable.
I've heard a lot of good things about the book, thanks!
yep - I tried that cookbook for my PICKY eaters - not a chance in hell - my son has two keen eyes! Won't eat anything! It gets better - say at around age 7 or so!! Good luck - it's a painful route!
