double l started out the month with a long weekend at gigi and pop-pop joe's house. this was the first time away from home for double l and the first time mommie and daddy went away without him. he did great! he had so much fun and it helped that claire was there as well. gigi took him out and about... they visited aunt phyllis' house and he went to his first neighborhood party ~ the smoke-tober fest ~ gigi, pop-pop joe and uncle max had fun showing him off :) he slept well, eat well and belly laughed the whole weekend long. claire-bears, well, lets just say she was her mischievous self...
as for us, we went to st. michael's to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. st. michael's was adorable and the wade's point inn, where we stayed, was beautiful.

I, of course, called my mom all the time checking in. don't get me wrong, I loved getting away with my bub and it was so relaxing. I just missed my little man. I am use to spending all my days with him and he is such an easy baby that we have fun all the time. I definitely know all the calls annoyed kris, because he told me so... :) but surprisingly, he brought out a "I miss double l and think he should always come on vacation with us". sweet, so we aren't sure when we will be leaving the little man again!
double l and I enjoyed a fall festival with some friends last weekend. poor daddy and claire were working hard in the yard cleaning up for winter, while we went on double l's first hay ride, picked pumpkins in the patch and just simply enjoyed the beautiful weather.

today, we went to the zoo with auntie cat, mimi, jackson and baby bennett. double l loved all the animals and playing in the tree house with jack. pics to come soon...
and just think, fall has just begun... we are definitely in store for even more fun as we visit the orchard, decorate the front yard with mums and pumpkins, take long walks on the crisp fall days, make pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, of course apple fritters and VOTE!
