YIKES

So, I fried my not quite 2 year old macbook pro by spilling coffee on it. And as thankful as I am that the sweet Megan from the genius bar was able to salvage my hard drive, I just wasn't able to swallow dropping $1300 on a new one. Even though it was an excellent deal offered to me for the latest version -- it still means we spent entirely too much money on a laptop. So, I sit and patiently wait until money starts falling from the sky or magically or not so magically (insert tax return which requires us to finish our taxes) shows up in our bank account. And I have been sick as a dog all week. Off to the doctors this afternoon. For now, I am stuck wondering how much chicken noodle soup should be consumed before I start feeling any better!!!

But Eleanor, LL and my bub are all healthy!!  Busy week ahead, so I am praying for a healthy start.

When Eleanor's daddy was a toddler, his eyes were crossed.   And then over time they corrected themselves all on their own.  Every time, we are about to take a picture and say "say cheese", Eleanor smiles real big and crosses her eyes.   No other time do those big brown eyes cross!  Its so odd, but I guess she has a little bit of her daddy in her!

Here it is...   A bottle.  Who knew it would spark so many emotions.   See, little Els has been off the bottle since her first birthday.   Both my babes were breastfed with a supplemental bottle (of either breast milk or formula).   I have cleaned out my cabinets a couple of times since she has turned one, but always found a reason to keep this one, lonely bottle.   Until this morning, I actually put it in the throw away pile (because I really don't think anyone wants my used bottle, right?) and as my bub walked by I dared to ask (as I was holding it in his face) --"yes, no, maybe so?.   He staled, perhaps wondering if the question was really about that bottle or something else.   His answer, "maybe so" not because I think he meant anything other than I don't want to answer this question even though we have talked about a "third" plenty of times and while his answer never waivers, mine has been changing the farther postpartum depression becomes a distant memory.

I decided to toss it.   But honestly because no other reason that there is no immediate need and I promised myself to clear out the clutter!   I will be praying for peace in this heart of mine tonight and enjoying our quiet weekend!

My sweet Eleanor wants to sit next to her brother while he gets his treatment.   She snuggles, pats him on the head and even sits quietly while just watching him.   Definitely a precious time for their mama!

my new obsession...

one of my favorite blogs is clover lane.  and when sarah posted about her new favorite show, I wanted to check it out.   I am now obsessed with Downton Abbey.   Thankfully, I could stream the entire first season on Amazon because I am a prime member.  Since, ahem..., on demand doesn't seem to have anything from PBS or Masterpiece Theater!!!

Have you seen this show?   If not, you must.   Its ridiculously good and the acting is superior to any show on TV now with exception to "Phil" from Modern Family!

If your an Amazon Prime member, go check it out the first season for free!  If your not an Amazon Prime member, well I honestly think you should be.  And no one paid me to say that :-)  I just love the perks.  Also, PBS seeing streaming the second season for free on their website.  I am now completely caught up with my DVR set for 9PM on Sunday evenings.

Just found this post in my drafts...  no idea why I didn't post it, but dreaming of Disney during a Philadelphia winter is a nice waste of time...  BTW, we went in June!

she had a spa day.   mani/pedi, hair cut and style, deep conditioning, the works!

and she certainly could not wait to get those silly bows out of her hair.
